Prayer to the Earth:

We are sorry father, we know not what we do. We have spread across your surface, populated your hills, valleys and skies.

We obliterate your creations, smoothing them under grey, stoney skin, whose purpose is, to keep your work at bay. We have been ungrateful children who do not respect your ways. We have let our pride and selfish desires obliterate our joy in your works. Thinking too much and not experiencing what is there to be experienced.

Always seeking the new without seeing what already is. Your gifts to us have been in abundance. Our thanks have been, to ask for more.

We understand your anger and fear ourselves. We hear your hurt but cannot control our urge. Our inner voice which says, that we know best, is like the rambling of a child. We have forgotten how to listen to you. We fear you, our father, whose anger must be huge and justified.

We fear we are not wise. We ask you for the wisdom to study, learn and enjoy your creations, each and every one of us.
