This is a copy of Rubens Satyr. He painted it after visiting Italy where he was profoundly effected by the work of Caravaggio. This copy (on the left) is painted using the same technique as Rubens originally used. It's fantasticly rich in terms of colours and the paint he used was fabricated from sun thickened linseed oils, tree resin and a couple of other secret ingredients. I painted this on a hand stretched linen which was also prepared and primed in the manner that he and most other artists of the time used.
